Case study: Bionic, 2011 to 2026

Running sales and marketing for a Cyprus tech retailer

For nine years I was Retail Sales & Marketing Manager at Bionic, one of Cyprus's leading technology retailers. Three stores, an e-shop, B2B sales and a lot of campaigns.

The job

One person joining up stores, online and B2B.

Bionic sells technology to shoppers and businesses across Cyprus. As Retail Sales & Marketing Manager from 2017 to 2026, I led marketing for the three stores in Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos, the bionic.com.cy e-shop and B2B sales.

That meant planning what we promoted and when, running the campaigns across every channel, working with brands like HP, Microsoft, PlayStation, Cyta and AMD on co-marketing, managing vendor and MDF budgets, and reporting on what actually sold. I used AI and automation to take the repetitive work out of it.

The e-shop

Ready before the world went online.

From 2017 I owned bionic.com.cy end to end: how it looked, what it sold, how people found it and how they checked out. I led more than five major platform upgrades, each one about a faster journey for the customer and more sales for the business.

When the 2020 lockdowns closed the stores, the online shop was ready to take the load. Customers moved from the counter to online overnight, and the business kept selling.

My path at Bionic

From the sales floor to running marketing.

  1. 2011: Sales consultant

Retail and corporate sales. Learning what customers really ask for.

  2. 2016: Store manager

Running a store day to day: the team, the targets and the customer experience.

  3. 2017: Retail Sales & Marketing Manager

Marketing for three stores, the e-shop and B2B, for nine years.

  4. 2026: Performance & SEO Specialist

After Bionic, I moved to London and joined OnlySEO.

What it taught me

Marketing has to move the till.

Fourteen years inside a retailer means I think like the person who has to hit the sales target, not just the person who makes the ads.

  • Campaigns only count if they sell, in store and online
  • Stock, price and promotion have to line up
  • Vendor money goes further with a clear plan
  • Simple reporting beats long reports nobody reads
  • A good shop is never finished. It gets better every season
Questions

Good to know.

What did a Retail Sales & Marketing Manager do at Bionic?

I led marketing for the three stores, the e-shop and B2B: planning promotions, running campaigns across digital, radio, billboards and print, working with vendors on co-marketing and MDF budgets, and reporting on results.

Did you run the e-shop?

Yes. I owned bionic.com.cy end to end from 2017 and led more than five major upgrades. It was one part of a wider role.

How does this help my business?

You get someone who has run real retail marketing with real targets. I can plan your campaigns, fix your shop and make your budget work harder, whether you sell in a store, online or both.
